Puerto Escondido

Zicatela doing it's thing.
Puerto Escondido is not for the faint of heart, the waves, the locals and the party scene can be full on. But there is another side of this little coastal town with it's laidback restaurants, fun left hand point (when there isn't a hundred people out) and almost non-existent time schedule. A bunch of travellers have made this surfers-hub their home, there are actually a few Australians hanging around here, a lot more especially, when compared with the rest of Mexico. For me Escondido really could be summed up by one word- FUN. It really is a magical place and one which many people have told me will always keep you coming back for more. The sunsets from La Punta were incredible. The point somewhat wraps around and lines up perfectly with the sun slowly making its dissent, every night a different colour, a different hue, a different shade cast on the crashing waves below.

Sunset from Zicatela, not half as impressive as ones from the point, but it seemed I always to busy enjoying and admiring the sunsets from the point and never got around to taking a photo, this one will have to do.

He caught a turtle for us. We drove out to sea for about an hour, nothing in sight until all of a sudden he jumped out of the boat at full speed and grabbed a turtle pulling it on board and lettis us take a closer look. Definately reminded me of a mexican 'dundee'.

Frutas y Verduras, our amazing hostel- if you are ever in the area be sure to stay here, cheap, great atmosphere and good fresh food.

More than happy to be in paradise...
